Established in 1974, BATTELEC INC has been a cornerstone of the motive power industry for over five decades. Our journey, marked by innovation and growth, began with the Perron family's acquisition in 1997 and the formation of the MAFINI group in 2008 through a merger with Montreal Charger. In late 2020, we expanded further by acquiring Combat Batteries in Ontario, which was renamed **Battelec Mississauga**, ensuring a consistent standard of excellence across our operations.
Now, with the acquisition of **New England Batteries in December 2024**, we are proud to take our first steps as our own distributor in the United States.
Established in 2000 to serve the Springfield region, New England Batteries has built a trusted reputation in the industry. Its soon to be relocation to Auburn positions us at the heart of the New England dealer network, reflecting our commitment to being closer to our customers and fostering strong relationships.
Expanding Our Vision in the USA
While the MAFINI group already generates 40% of its sales in the U.S., this acquisition marks a pivotal moment in our journey. By establishing a direct presence in the United States, we aim to replicate the strong, lasting partnerships with dealers that have defined our success in Canada. This new chapter is not just about expansion—it’s about making an impact and delivering the same standard of excellence that has been central to our legacy.
